EXAMINER GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ELEANOR PREWITT-THOMAS
SPORT: Swimming
CLASS: Senior
SCHOOL: Blue Springs
HIGHLIGHTS: The senior captured first place in the 200-yard individual medley in the COMO Invitational with a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 8.94 seconds in Saturday’s finals. She also claimed second in the 100 butterfly in a personal best 59.84. She also claimed wins in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke to lead the Wildcats to wins over Blue Springs South, St. Teresa’s and Notre Dame de Sion.
COMMENT: “She was 4-for-4 with lifetime best times in every event she swam for us (at the COMO Invitational),” Wildcats coach Bill Shalley said. “She’s starting to look like what we always thought she could. She trains her rear off, she leads, then she steps up in a big meet. She does it all. It’s impressive to see what she did.”
