Jimmy Conrad scored out of a loose-ball scramble in second-half stoppage time, giving the Kansas City Wizards a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas on Saturday night.
Conrad’s team-leading fifth goal came from just inside the 6-yard box on an assist from Josh Wolff.
Andre Rocha scored his first Major League Soccer goal early in the first half, but FC Dallas, which played a man down for the last 28 minutes, couldn’t hang on.
FC Dallas (6-7-8) missed a chance to move past Real Salt Lake into second place in the Western Conference. Kansas City (6-7-8) avoided its first home loss since a 3-0 defeat by Columbus on June 14.
Dallas midfielder Pablo Ricchetti was ejected in the 62rd minute after drawing his second yellow card for a reckless foul on Davy Arnaud.
Rocha, acquired on loan in February from Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense, leads Dallas with six assists but had not found the back of the net until the sixth minute Saturday night.
His first MLS goal was spectacular, a 35-yard blast after a long cross from Dax McCarty. Wizards keeper Kevin Hartman dove to his left but could not make the save.
