Blue Springs South freshman diver Breanne Schlenger continues to impress.
Schlenger broke South’s freshman scoring record for a six-dive meet, totaling 236.65 points to win and lead the Jaguars girls swimming and diving team to a sweep of Raytown and Raytown South at the Blue Springs YMCA.
“The big standout was our divers, especially Bre Schlenger, our freshman diver,” South coach Errich Oberlander said. “All three of our divers achieved personal bests last night.”
Maesyn Umstattd was second with a career-best 194.15.
The Jaguars won two relays and three individual swimming events. Another freshman, Morgan Connors, led South with a pair of wins in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.73) and 500 freestyle (5:54.05). Rachel Honig prevailed in the 200 freestyle (2:12.40).
Monica Hernandez led Raytown with two wins, taking first in the 200 individual medley (2:26.74) and 100 freestyle (56.37). Kaytlynn Clemons (50 freestyle), Emily Stebbins (100 backstroke) and Spencer Kuehl (100 breaststroke) also triumphed for the Blue Jays.
