A short-handed lineup made for a tough showing for the Blue Springs girls golf team Tuesday.
With only four players, the Wildcats finished 12th in the Warrensburg Invitational, shooting 480 at the par-72 Hidden Point Country Club.
Jayme Martin had the top score for Blue Springs with a 109, while Anna Brand shot 117.
“We have lots of room for improvement,” Wildcats coach Jill Courter said. “I think this was first-tournament jitters, so hopefully this is all out of their systems now. We have seven seniors and one junior fighting for five varsity spots, and only a couple of them have any experience. We’re not young, but we are inexperienced.”
Lee’s Summit North tied for the team title with Columbia Rock Bridge, shooting 368. Bronco McCall Christopher tied for individual medalist honors by shooting an 82.
JAGS TAKE FIFTH: Lauren Woody fired a 95 as Blue Springs South took fifth in the Liberty Tournament on Monday.
Jordan Petrus shot 100, Bailey Goodman posted a 104 and Marissa Robb completed South’s scoring with a 108.
