Sacramento, CALIF —

A strong finish by Fort Osage High School graduate Betty Lennox wasn’t enough to save the Atlanta Dream Friday.
Crystal Kelly scored 15 points and the Sacramento Monarchs held off Atlanta for a 77-73 victory.
Lennox, who is averaging nearly 19 points a game, missed her first nine shots of the game, but scored all of her 11 points in the final 6:51.
It was the third straight win for Sacramento (11-11), which moved past idle Minnesota and into fourth place in the Western Conference.
Nicole Powell had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Monarchs. Kara Lawson also scored 12 points, and Rebekkah Brunson and Scholanda Robinson both had 10. Ticha Penicheiro added six points and nine assists.
Ex-Monarchs player Kristen Haynie scored a season-high 12 points for Atlanta, which outscored Sacramento 32-20 in the fourth quarter. Ivory Latta joined Lennox with 11 points.
The Dream (3-20), who opened the season with 17 straight losses, are 2-3 on their six-game road trip, which concludes Saturday night in Phoenix.
