THIS WEEK
■ FRIDAY’S GAME: Missouri Mavericks vs. Tulsa Oilers
■ WHEN: 7:05 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.)
■ WHERE: Independence Events Center.
■ RADIO: KCWJ (1030 AM), on tape delay at approximately 10 p.m. following the high school football game or online at www.MissouriMavericks.com on Friday.

■ MATCHUP NOTES: The Mavericks play host to the Tulsa Oilers for the first of nine games between the teams this season. Tulsa will visit Independence Events Center five times, but after Friday, the Oilers will not return until Feb. 5. The Oilers are currently in second place in the Northern Conference with a record of 7-3-0 for 14 points.  Oilers forward T.J. Caig won the Oakley Player of the Week after having nine points (6 goals, 3 assists) in three games last week. The Mavericks hope to stay unbeaten at home after sweeping the Wichita Thunder last week in their first two games at the Events Center. … Tulsa has won three straight games for the first time since March 15-18 of 2008 and is undefeated at home with a 5-0-0 record. Tulsa is averaging a goal more a game than the opposition and Caig has been a big catalyst with eight goals in his last five games and multiple-goal games in three straight contests.
■ TRUMAN JERSEY NIGHT, CLYDESDALES & THUNDERSTIX: The Mavericks will wear Truman specialty jerseys on Friday night. The jerseys will be auctioned off directly following the game and any fan is encouraged to bid on their favorite player’s jersey. Proceeds will benefit the Truman Heritage Foundation. … Prior to Friday’s game, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be at Independence Events Center from 5-7 p.m. for photo opportunities with fans. Truman Library will also give thunderstix to the first 2,000 fans in the doors Friday.
■ BOX OFFICE OPEN: The box office at Independence Events Center is open to purchase Mavericks tickets. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturday game days. Tickets start at $12.
■ SATURDAY’S GAME: Missouri Mavericks vs. Mississippi RiverKIngs
■ WHEN: 7:05 p.m.
■ WHERE: DeSoto Civic Center, Southaven, Miss.
■ RADIO: KCWJ (1030 AM) live.

■ MATCHUP NOTES: Missouri will play the RiverKings for the first of 11 matchups this season when they head to DeSoto Civic Center just outside of Memphis. The RiverKings sit in a tie for second place in the Northern Conference with 14 points, however Mississippi has already played 14 games this season. Forward Ryan Held leads the RiverKings with 11 goals and 16 points, and goaltender Jean Ray has seven wins and a 3.13 goals-against average.

LAST WEEK
■ RECORD FOR THE WEEK: 2-0-0.
■ RECORD OVERALL: 4-6-1.
■ LAST WEEK’S RESULTS: The Mavericks overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Wichita Thunder 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at the opening of the Independence Events Center. Jeff MacDermid scored the game-tying goal and added a shootout goal in his first game with the Mavericks. Goaltender Doug Groenestege stopped 23 of 25 shots for his third win of the season. On Saturday, the Mavs scored three power play goals en route to a 4-2 victory over Wichita. MacDermid tallied two goals and Jeff Christian added three assists as the Mavericks won their second straight game. Goaltender Mike Gorman finished with 38 saves on 40 shots for his first win of the season. Missouri is 4-0-0 against the Thunder this season and 2-0-0 at Independence Events Center. 
■ STRONG DEBUT: After signing off waivers from the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs earlier in the week, forward Jeff MacDermid paid big dividends in his first two games, posting three goals and an assist as well as a shootout goal.
■ PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: The Mavericks are again up for the Central Hockey League Performance of the Week for week five of the season (the period between Nov. 9-15) – twice. They are nominated for coming back for 3-2 shootout win in home opener against Wichita on Friday. The Mavs are also nominated for scoring three power play goals in a 3:12 stretch of the second period of their win against the Thunder on Saturday. Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, Nov. 23 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
■ NUMBERS, ETC.: The Mavericks have outscored the Wichita Thunder 15-5 in the four games between the teams this season, all wins by the Mavs. … After going 0-for-25 in the four games leading up to last week’s home openers, the Mavericks were 4-for-14 against the Thunder, including three power-play goals in a span of 3:12 Saturday.
