The Fort Osage baseball team started the scoring early and William Chrisman never recovered Friday.

The Indians plated seven runs in the first inning and rolled to a 12-0 five-inning Middle Seven Conference win on senior night at Fort Osage High School.

Chad Sutton faced only 18 batters, struck out six and walked only one batter in picking up the win for the Indians (11-13, 8-3 conference). Drew Standifer smacked a two-run homer in the first inning and later added an RBI single, Chance Divers went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Alex Merithew went 3-for-3.

“Senior night can go one of two ways,” Fort Osage coach Chris Walker said. “I was glad to see the kids go out and stay focused. We hit the ball really well tonight and Chad pitched a really good game.”

Nick Douglas took the loss for the Bears (1-21, 0-12).

TRUMAN 9, ST. JOSEPH CENTRAL 2: Tom Ruddy allowed only four hits in six innings and singled three times in pitching and batting Truman to the home Suburban Middle Six victory.

Cory Biegel had a two-run double and Andrew Billingsley singled twice for Truman (14-6, 4-5).
Truman snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the fifth inning.

“Ruddy threw really well,” Truman coach John Eglich said.

LEE’S SUMMIT 6, LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 1: Two three-run innings lifted host Lee’s Summit to the Suburban Big Six victory.
