Jaguars advance to sectional play, defeat Titans

Blue Springs South wasted little time in dispatching visitng Lee’s Summit West.
Zack Kaltenbach, Caleb Jeff, Steve Bodenheimer, Brooks Stotts, Josh Payton and Jon Strope all won singles matches, as the Jags beat West 6-0 Monday in state team regional play.
The Jags next face Park Hill in sectionals. The date of the sectional match is still to be determined. Park Hill beat South, 7-2, earlier in the year.
“They all did well,” South coach Sheri Rehmer said. “Zack especially played well. He had lost to Peter (Gardner last time). Everyone else won. So Zack got his victory.”
While South moves on, visitng Lee’s Summit North was swept, 5-0, by Rockhurst.
“I couldn’t be more proud of how our guys competed all year long,” North coach Stu Reece said. “Rockhurst is always the favorite to win the state title every year, but I was happy to see our guys compete for every point until the finish.
