Independence, MO —

The St. Mary’s softball team finished its final spring season with a 5-12 record.
An 11-run fourth inning carried Sherwood of Creighton to a 14-2 Show-Me West Conference victory over the Trojans Thursday at Mill Creek Park.
“It was a tough season,” St. Mary’s coach Sara Kenney said. “We did a lot of growing throughout the season. We had a young team.”
Myrian Cisneros suffered the loss for the Trojans, who will play a fall schedule for the first time later this year when they compete in their new league, the Crossroads Conference.
Katie Noland had a RBI single to lead the Trojans in their season finale.
