Blue Springs, MO —

The new Blue Springs lineup continued its struggles Thursday.
The Wildcats suffered a 5-1 loss to an experienced Lee’s Summit West team. Only singles matches were played because of the weather.
“They’re a good team,” Wildcats coach Carrie McAtee said. “They have been the last few years. This was another night of learning for us. We just have to get better and better each match. We’re still trying to get a good lineup out there and figure out who plays well with who in doubles.”
Tasha Pruter won the lone singles match for Blue Springs. Emmie Andreas, Brooke Stanke, Keisha Greene, Kirsten Vollmer and Taylor Hines all won for West.
LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 7, NORTH KANSAS CITY 4: An extra singles and doubles match did little to help host North Kansas City Thursday.
North won four singles matches and three doubles matches.
“We are really pleased with the girls efforts, and they continue to improve each time out on the court,” North coach Stuart Reece said. “We were fortunate to doge the storms and complete the match. The girls stayed focused and played well.”
Roni Immethun, Courtney Rogers, Kenzie Berwald and Shelby Stevens all won in singles. The doubles teams of Immethun-Emy Luebbering, Rogers-Berwald and Stephens-Miller also won.
