Independence, MO —

The Blue Springs Hawks have made it to the championship of the Kiwanis League Postseason Tournament.
Alex Worman and Sam Morman combined to throw a three-hit shutout as the Hawks posted a 3-0 victory over The Yard-15 Friday night at Crysler Stadium.
The Hawks advance to today’s 10 a.m. championship against the Diamondbacks. A second game will follow at 1 p.m. at Crysler Stadium if the Hawks can win the 10 a.m. game.
Millhouse-16 was supposed to play the Hawks later Friday for the right to advance to the championship round, but had to forfeit because too many injuries wouldn’t allow it to field a complete team.
Worman gave up two hits and four walks in six innings and Morman pitched a scoreless seventh to help lift the Hawks.
Josh Ingram’s two-run single and Jeff Fowler’s RBI single in the fourth gave the Hawks all the runs they would need. Fowler and Josh Hightower each finished with two hits, Nick Clark added a double and Nelson Phillips singled in the three-run fourth.
Alex Routh had two hits and losing pitcher Josh Felz got the other hit for The Yard.
