Truman ends regular season on a high note

Joe Ruhlman made certain Truman tied for second place in the Suburban Big Six.
The senior pitched a four-hitter, struck out seven and walked one in leading Truman to a 4-2 home conference win over Winnetonka.
“Joe, as he has done all year, had another good game,” Truman coach John Eglich said. “Now, it’s off to districts (next week at Truman).
Truman (16-9, 6-3 Big Six) collected only five hits. Kyle Clifton’s fifth inning solo homer gave Truman a 4-1 lead.
Winnetonka dropped to 9-9 and 6-3.
The Patriots are the top seed in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament and draw a bye into Tuesday’s 3 p.m. semifinals, where they will meet the winner of Monday’s game between William Chrisman and Winnetonka.
