The Blue Springs boys soccer team made it a quick road trip Wednesday.
Derek AuBuchon recorded a hat trick and two assists and Matt Beaver had two goals and an assist as the Wildcats routed the host St. Joseph Central Indians 10-0.
“We played well,” Wildcats coach Mike Palermo said. “A lot of guys got to play. We’re ready for Lee’s Summit North on Monday.”
Christian Delgadillo, Ryan Robinson, Trent Nichol, Keaton McCoy and Max Beaver also scored for Blue Springs, which improved to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the Suburban Big Seven.
Robinson and James Bledsoe also had two assists. Max Beaver’s goal off a Tony Mora assist ended the game early on the 10-goal mercy rule in the 78th minute.
Nick Waite only had to make three saves to record the shutout for Blue Springs, which outshot the Indians 20-3.
Blue Springs also rolled to a 6-0 win in the junior varsity matchup.
RAYMORE-PECULIAR 4, LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 2: Raymore-Peculiar scored two unanswered goals to break a tie with Lee’s Summit North and claim a Suburban Big Seven victory at North.
Gyer Vierthaler scored on a penalty kick in the 34th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 at halftime for North. Michael Oakley tied it for the Broncos when he scored in the 42nd minute off an assist from Jordan Lennan. But goals by Josh Ogren and Cole Prather – his third of the game – lifted Ray-Pec to the win.
Lee’s Summit North’s JV won 3-1.
