Another home invasion has taken place in western Independence.

The latest happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of Crysler Avenue. According to Independence Police Department spokesman Tom Gentry, the female victim was in her house when her dogs began barking and would not stop. She opened the door of the room she was in and saw a male subject standing at the end of the hallway.

The woman quickly closed the door and called police. Upon arrival, Independence police checked the residence and determined that the suspect had left the premises. Police also concluded that the man had forced his way into the residence.

A police K-9 unit tried picking up a scent of the suspect, but one was not located. The female victim was not injured in the invasion.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Gentry did not have a suspect description available. Police are continuing their investigation.
