Galen Boyer is now Cable-Dahmer.

The Independence-based Chevrolet dealership has purchased both Galen Boyer Buick/GMC and Broome Cadillac. The change was made official Friday.

Galen Boyer, 3107 S. Noland Road, which sells new GMC and Buick vehicles as well as a variety of used cars, will remain open. The longtime dealership was recently remodeled and will become Cable-Dahmer GMC, Buick and Cadillac.

Sylvia Flores, human resources director for Cable-Dahmer, said Broome Cadillac, 11911 E. U.S. 40 in Independence, has been closed and will be folded into the new Cable-Dahmer branch on Noland. The Broome dealership had been in business for more than 40 years. Flores said most of the employees in both dealerships have been retained.

“The Galen Boyer location is absolutely open,” Flores said. “We are encouraging all of the people who went to Broome Cadillac for service to come to the Galen Boyer site. The whole process has been a great transition.”

Cable-Dahmer has been in the Kansas City area since 1957 when it opened as Cable Chevrolet. It become Cable-Dahmer in 1988 after merging with Dahmer Chevrolet, a car dealership that was located in the Fairmount area. Flores said customer service and car repair service will remain the same at the dealership’s newest location.
