An Independence man suffered serious injuries in a vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.
Shaun M. Dorrell, 28, of Independence, was an occupant with two others when Kyle Watkins, 26, of Independence, reportedly lost control of his car on Interstate 470 just west of Pryor Road in Lee’s Summit at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The vehicle drove off the right side of the road and rolled. Dorrell was seriously injured, while Watkins suffered moderate injuries. The remaining two occupants, Mariah Dorrell, 4, and Dejah Wiley, 7, of Independence, suffered minor injuries.
Dorrell and Watkins were not wearing their safety belts. The children were.
