An Independence man was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center Thursday with injuries he suffered in a three-car crash on Missouri 210 in Jackson County.
Scott K. Ward, 53, was a passenger in a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Jesse K. Ward, 22, also of Independence.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the Jetta was westbound on M-210 about 6:45 a.m. at the intersection with Missouri 291. It was sitting traffic behind a 2010 Jeep Patriot driven by Randolph D. Ibarra, 27, of Blue Springs. The Jetta moved in traffic and was struck from behind by a 2006 Ford van driven by Brett A. Wheeler, 33, of Orrick, Mo. The impact pushed the Jetta into the back of the Patriot.
Scott Ward’s injuries were described as moderate. Wheeler, Ibarra and Jesse Ward all suffered minor injuries. Everyone was buckled in. The patrol said charges were pending.
