Amy Varel became the bride of Aaron McLean in an afternoon ceremony Oct. 25, 2008, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Bartelso, Ill. The Rev. Henry Fischer officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, the daughter of Jim and Betty Varel, wore an ivory corest-style, A-line strapless gown with beaded embroidery. The skirt featured royal embellishments detailing the caught up accents, while the skirt back boasted caught up accents cascading into a bubble hem chapel train.
The parents of the bridegroom are Charlie and Linda McLean.
Laura Malone assisted the bride as matron of honor, with Melissa Buchheit, Melinda Varel, Melanie Goldsborough, Alison Varel, Amanda Schrage and Carey Schmeink as bridesmaids. Ava Varel was flower girl, with Owen Buchheit as ring bearer.
Nathan McLean served as best man, with Stu Kienlen, Chad Hampy, Martin Harris, Fred Buckley, Jesse Varel and Jeremy Varel as groomsmen. Jason Varel and Eric Varel were ushers.
The reception was held at Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston, Ill.
The bride, a 1997 graduate of Central Community High School, is a 2001 graduate of St. Louis University. Amy is a project manager at dmrkynetec in St. Louis.
The bridegroom, a 1994 graduate of Fort Osage High School, is a 1999 graduate of Central Missouri State University. Aaron is a senior technical architect for AT&T in St. Louis.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. McLean are at home in Fairview Heights, Ill.
