Billie Dean Bryan, 76, of Independence, Mo., passed away March 25, 2010, at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Billie Dean Bryan, 76, of Independence, Mo., passed away March 25, 2010, at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Billie was born August 16, 1933, in Ludlow, Mo., the son of Melvin and Gladys (Clement) Bryan. 

He grew up in Linneus, Mo.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1953 to 1957, with an Honorable Discharge. 

He received a National Defense Service medal and a Good Conduct medal. 

He was a B36 mechanic and served in Spokane, Wash., and Guam.

Billie loved the outdoors and went on many family camping trips.  He also enjoyed his classic cars.

Billie was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Bryan and his brother Donnie Bryan.

Survivors include his two sons, Rick(ie) Bryan and Randy Bryan, both of Liberty, Mo., daughter-in-law, Shelly Bryan, four grandchildren, Jason, April, Danielle and Justin and one great-granddaughter, Hannah.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at New Salem Funeral Home. 

Burial in New Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at New Salem chapel.
