Blue Springs police are investigating an incident that left one city resident dead early Thursday morning.

Troy Pharr, spokesperson for police, said officers were called to America’s Best Value Inn hotel at 1110 N.W. Missouri 7 at about 2:15 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. Pharr said neighbors of room 139 called to report the disturbance. Police discovered a 39-year-old man in the room with a head injury. Pharr said he had been living in the room for some time. The man was taken to a hospital. Pharr said he died in the emergency room.

“He was talking to officers when he left the property,” Pharr said.

Police searched the room later that morning. No other details were available. However, Pharr said that an autopsy would be performed today.

The man’s name was not released Thursday night.
