  • Cancellations for Tuesday night and Wednesday

  • Because of the winter storm that swept through the area Tuesday and the potential for more snow early Wednesday morning, schools and other public places are beginning to cancel classes and activities for this afternoon and tomorrow.

  • Because of the winter storm that swept through the area Tuesday and the potential for more snow early Wednesday morning, schools and other public places are beginning to cancel classes and activities for this afternoon and tomorrow.
    Stay tuned to The Examiner’s website and Facebook and Twitter pages for more information as cancellations are announced.
    • The Blue Springs School District has canceled classes for Wednesday.
    • The Grain Valley School District canceled classes for Wendesday. Valley Kids will be open at Sni-A-Bar Elementary.
    • The Raytown School District canceled classes for Wednesday.
    • The Fort Osage School District has canceled classes for Wednesday. Fort Discovery will be open at 6:30 a.m. at Blue Hills Elementary.
    • The Independence School District has canceled classes for Wednesday. Child and Family Learning Centers will be open.
    • The Lee's Summit School District has canceled classes for Wednesday.
    • The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority has canceled four bus routes for Tuesday. Canceled routes are 15X, Truman Road Express; 170X, Blue Springs Express; 152X, Lee's Summit/Raytown Express; and 69X, Liberty Express. See www.kcata.org for more information.
    • Tonight's game at the Independence Events Center has been postponed to March 13.
    • All YMCA locations are closed Tuesday.
    • Independence Center and Cargo Largo are closed Tuesday.
    • Sugar Creek has also postponed its Tuesday trash route. It will run one day late.
