  • Noted lecturer and historian Jim Howk returns to the National Frontier Trails Museum to deliver the lecture, “Exploring with Lewis and Clark,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 318 W. Pacific Ave., Independence.
    In his well-illustrated talk, he will discuss all aspects of the famous undertaking, from the preparations, selection of participants, adventures experienced, and the lasting legacy of the two-year voyage of discovery.
    This is a free event and refreshments will be served. Advance reservations are requested, call 816-325-7575.
