  • Freshman Leigh Anne Bartlett was too much for North Kansas City.
    She scored two goals and assisted on four others to power the visiting Fort Osage girls soccer team to a 6-0 Suburban Middle Seven victory over North Kansas City Thursday night.
    Aspen O’Neil scored two goals and Alli Ventresca and Felisha Jones added one each for the Indians (3-1, 3-0 conference). Goalkeeper Lydia Calderon posted the shutout.
    “We played really well,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said. “We passed the ball well and created a lot of chances.”
    WILLIAM CHRISMAN 1, OAK PARK 0: Goalkeeper Jordyn Atagi snatched 12 saves and the Bears outlasted Oak Park 4-3 in a shootout to post a tough Suburban Middle Six victory Thursday night.
    “I was very proud of the girls on how hard they played today,” Chrisman coach John Straub said. “Our team defense played really well.”
    Chrisman improved to 3-1 and 1-1.
    PEMBROKE HILL 4, TRUMAN 1: Three second-half goals within 11 minutes of the each other carried host Pembroke Hill to the victory in the second round of the Pembroke Hill Tournament Thursday.
    Truman’s Lauren Franklin assisted on Christina Harp’s goal in the 46th minute that briefly tied the score.
    "We didn't play good enough to win tonight," Truman coach Jared Byrne said. "Hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow."
    The Patriots (0-4) were held to only two shots on goal. Kealy Kornitzer scored twice for Pembroke Hill.
