    Park Hill South plated seven two-out runs to help secure a 10-8 Suburban Middle Six Victory at Truman High School.
    “The seven-run inning was the killer,” Truman coach John Eglich said. “We had a chance to win it at the end and didn’t come through.”
    The Patriots ended the game by stranding runners on second and third.
    Losing pitcher J.T. Hayes thumped a solo and two-run homer, Cory Pleacher doubled and Tom Ruddy ripped a two-run double to power Truman (2-3, 1-2 conference).
    COLUMBIA ROCK BRIDGE 8, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 3: Nine walks came back to haunt the Jaguars in the second-round loss in the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tournament Thursday night.
    “We are learning a lot about ourselves,” South coach Ben Baier said.
    Conner Davis suffered the loss for South (4-1).
    Rock Bridge clinched the win with a four-run seventh inning.
    On Wednesday, the Jaguars topped Class 4 No. 4-ranked Oak Grove 5-3 in the opening round. Caleb Humphreys pitched the first five innings to pick up the victory while Austin Simms singled and doubled with an RBI.
    Conner Matson finished 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Oak Grove.
    OAK GROVE 11, RAYMORE-PECULIAR 4: Oak Grove scored in five innings in posting the second-round victory in the Sedalia Tournament on Thursday.
    A five-run seventh inning clinched the Class 4 No. 4-ranked Panthers improved to 6-2.
    Corey Bolin spaced seven hits in going the distance for his first victory of the season.
    The Panthers had 10 hits. Jonathan Latshaw, Levi Harmon and Seann Baker led the way with two each.
    “I was very proud of how our kids came back after losing such an emotional game against Blue Springs South (Wednesday night),” Oak Grove coach Kirk Sears said. “Every one of our guys contributed in some way tonight. This was definitely a team victory.”
