  • The Fort Osage School District is in the midst of what is called a “Communications Audit.” In a nutshell, the district has engaged Patron Insight, a company that works with school districts on communication issues, to study how it communicates with parents, non-parent patrons, staff members and other key audiences. The district wants to know if what it is saying is resonating, or if it should be taking a different approach.
A key part of this process is brief focus group meetings with patrons who do not have kids in school at this time.
The school district is inviting those individuals to an informal focus group discussion session, led by a member of the Patron Insight team.
    n For Elementary/Fire Prairie parents - 7 to 8:15 p.m. April 23 at The Gragg Administration Building, 2101 N. Twyman Road.
n For Osage Trail and Fort Osage High School parents - 7 to 8:15 p.m. April 25 at Fort Osage Career and Technology Center.
n For patrons - 7 to 8:15 p.m. April 25 at The Gragg Administration Building.
No preparation is needed for this meeting. Those interested simply need to have an opinion, based on their own experiences as well as what they have heard from others about the district and its communications.
    Comments will be completely confidential.
If interested in attending one of the sessions, please RSVP to Stephanie Smith, public relations director at 816-650-7019 or by e-mail at ssmith@fortosage.net.
