    Reva Van Cleave, 86, of Independence, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013.
    A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street, Independence. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the chapel. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery.
    Reva was born August 14, 1926, to Raymond and Anna (Foster) Carnahan. She graduated Valedictorian from a high school near Mack’s Creek, Mo.
    Later, she met her husband, Lee Van Cleave, and together they had two children. Reva was an avid reader and photographer. She is described as caring and gregarious, having never met a stranger. Reva is loved and will be missed.
    She is survived by son, Richard Van Cleave (Jennifer Maloney) of Independence, Mo.; daughter, Beth Copeland (Pete) of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Erin Van Cleave; Adriane LaCaze (Terry) all of Kansas City, Mo.; great grandchildren, Brenna and Maeryn; brother, Dwight Carnahan (Margaret) of Independence, Mo.; and sister in law, Evelyn Nichols of Pineville, Mo. Reva was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lee.
