Josh Twenter, Matias Bichara (160) and David Florido (171) each recorded a pair of pins to lead the St. Mary’s wrestling team to a pair of dual victories Monday.
The Trojans (7-5) topped Van Horn 51-24 after defeating Hickman Mills 60-24.
“It was nice to come away with two dual victories,” Trojans coach Jason Fenstermaker said. “It was great to win most of the matches and not just win on the opens. We are starting to improve, but we are still making some of the basic wrestling mistakes. Some of the guys have high hopes for the season and this is a great time to start making the climb so we can peak at the right time.”
Danny Fedynich (152) also won by pin and Ozzy Litchfield (140) won a decision against Van Horn. Perry Bishop (119) and Brendon Jones (215) recorded pins for Van Horn’s only wins on the mat.
Alberto Sanchez (112) and Brian Erstad (119) also had pins against Hickman Mills.
