Independence is to have a new weekly paper. The local lodge of socialists decided they needed an organ. Stock subscriptions were taken up and it was decided to start a weekly paper about January 1, in time for the city campaign. The paper is to be four pages, six columns to the page and will be called The Jackson County Social Democrat. E.M. Morgan is secretary-treasurer and W.L. Garver and Wm. Clow Sr. are to be the editors.
