Desirae Parker and Joshua Seeley have been selected as Students of the Month by the Rotary Club of Independence.

Desirae Parker and Joshua Seeley have been selected as Students of the Month by the Rotary Club of Independence.

Parker is a senior at William Chrisman High School and has been named to Who’s Who Among American high School Students; is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society; was named to the first team all-district for soccer in 2006-07; was an honorable mention all-conference in 2006-07 and was among Homecoming royalty in 2008.

In addition, she was a member of the varsity soccer team freshman and sophomore year; is a member of the Spanish Club and the Science Club; is secretary of the Student Council; has been class secretary since 2005; participants in varsity track and is a photographer for the yearbook and newspaper.

In the future, Parker plans to go onto college to become a photographer while also playing soccer. She is currently undecided on college choice. Her parents are Dennis and Faye Parker.

Seeley is also a senior at William Chrisman High School and is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society and the International Thespian Society; is a MPI attendant and an Eagle Scout; has been named to Who’s Who Among American high School Students; is in the top three percent of his class and is a McCoy Award recipient.

In addition, he participants in theater; is a member of Association for Chrisman Excellence; attends church; serves as secretary for the theater board and was a member of the band and pep band for three years.

In the future, Seeley plans to become a secondary school English teacher, but first would like to join the Peace Corps for two years. His parents are John and Bev Seeley.
