Action taken Oct. 28, 2008.

The Independence Planning Commission met Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, and took the following action (unanimous unless noted):

Approved a special sign permit for Trinity Presbyterian Church so it can erect an electronic message center for its property at the intersection of west 27th Street and south Sheley Road at 1400 W. Sheley Road. Approved an application from McBee Store for a final plat located at the corner of U.S.  24 and east Parker Avenue. Continued on deciding whether to approve or deny an application from B & A Architecture to rezone an area of land at the former MCI hospital area so it can build an independent senior housing complex. Approved an application to rezone a property at the northeast corner of River Boulevard and U.S. 40 at 12800 E. U.S. 40. Approved a special use permit request that allows T Mobile to plant a 75-foot cell phone tower on the grounds of St. Michael's Episcopal Church at 4000 S. Lee's Summit Road.
