William C. Paxton, 80, loving husband and father died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Independence, retiring from the practice of law after 35 years. He helped many people as their attorney, their counselor and their friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Wilson Paxton and daughter Susan Paxton Block.

Bill leaves behind his wife, Kerstin Paxton; daughter, Barbara Paxton DiBlasi; son-in-law, Ronald DiBlasi; and grandchildren, Dana Block, Megan Block, Paxton DiBlasi, Colston DiBlasi, Weston DiBlasi and Grayston DiBlasi. Bill was blessed to be with his wife, daughter and all his grandchildren in the weeks preceding his death. We were blessed, as was the community, with this amazing man.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Mound Grove Cemetery.
