Carolyn Helen “Cookie” Koch Miller, 83, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.

Cookie was born on January 25, 1925, in Coffeyville, KS, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Plattner) Koch. She graduated from the Research Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Cookie married Elmer Miller on June 27, 1948. She was a member and Treasurer for the United Methodist Church in Oak Grove for over 50 years.

Cookie was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Mildred Denison & Dorothy Copeland.

Her survivors include four children: Sharon Gates & her husband, Dwight, of Nixa, MO, Jan Kimble & her husband, Mike, of Belton, MO, Debbie Stewart & her husband, David, of Olathe, KS, and Terry Miller of Independence, MO; four grandchildren: Rick Henderson, Carinne Kimble, Steven Stewart, & Shanna Stewart; two great-grandchildren: Courtney & Shelbie Henderson; and two great great-grandchildren: Colby & Carson Jester.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 30 at United Methodist Church, 1501 S. Harding, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church.
