Blue Springs is talking about it. Lee’s Summit did it.

The city opened a new recycling center last week. It’ll be open three days a week. It will take the usual items – newspapers and magazines, the two most commonly used types of plastic, pop cans, tin cans, cardboard – and even one that just about every other center has given up on: glass.

This puts Lee’s Summit about on a par with what Independence offers – a serviceable option for residents willing to gather the stuff up and add an errand to their day.

In the meantime, folks in Blue Springs are left wanting. It can be done. It should be done.
