Autumn M. Isbell is an academic all-star at Van Horn High School.

Scholastic honors: Top 1 percent; participated in the A-plus program; Recipient of the McCoy Award; named to the honor roll throughout high school; member of the National Honor Society and selected to Who’s Who Among American High School Students.


High school and community activities: Volunteer for the Easter Egg hunt and at Trails West Library as well as a volunteer for other community and school activities.



1 To what do you attribute your academic success?

My parents, who keep me in line and also made sure I got my work done..



2 Who was your biggest influence on your studies?

My mother, she made sure I got it done and didn’t quit.



3 What was your favorite activity in high school? Why?

It would be my physics course because it challenged me and gave me a start in my major.



4 What college do you plan to attend and why?

MCC-Longview is my first stop. It is close and has good engineering classes to start me off.



5 What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?

I see myself working somewhere with my engineering degree.
