Kansas City Power & Light experienced a power outage Monday morning but the lights have been restored in south Blue Springs.


Around 9:50 a.m., an “issue” at one of the companies substations shut down power to about 4,500 customers in south Blue Springs, a KCP&L spokeswoman said.


The outage lasted around two hours. The affected area went as far north as Crenshaw Road and as far south as East Cowherd Road, according KCP&L.


The spokesman did not have details of what happened at the substation.
