  • Rainbow for Girls holds EJC induction

    • email print
  • The first induction ceremony in many years for new members joining the Lee’s Summit branch of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls was held July 9.
Rainbow Girls are between the ages of 11 and 19 with a “little sister” organization called Pledges for girls ages 7 through 10. Rainbow is a 90-year-old organization that has never lost sight of its primary goals: To elevate leadership, mentoring younger members, service, integrity, forever friends, character building and fun activities for pre-teen and teenage girls around the world.
This induction ceremony featured 20 Rainbow Girls from seven branches (from Topeka, greater Kansas City, Columbia and St. Charles) who have memorized speeches about Rainbow’s lessons to present to the new members and their parents, legal guardians and/or grandparents. All Masons, Eastern Star, Amaranth and White Shrine members may attend an induction ceremony, as well as past and present Rainbow Girls.
