  • The Missouri Mavericks traded forward Karl Sellan to the Arizona Sundogs.
Sellan, who has been plagued by injuries during his two-year stay with the Mavericks, was traded for future considerations.
Mavericks coach Scott Hillman also announced Monday that forward Derek Pallardy has been taken off the injured reserve and forward Derek Knowles has been placed on the 10-day injured reserve.
“We appreciate how hard Karl worked to get through numerous injuries and get back to playing shape,” Hillman said Monday.  “We didn’t have Karl for the first three weeks of this season and upon his return we knew we needed to make room on the roster.  Arizona will be a great fit for Karl and we wish him continued success.
Sellan played in two games for the Mavericks this season and was held scoreless in each game. He battled injuries in his first season with Missouri last year and finished with 23 points in 43 games.
Pallardy, a native of St. Louis, said he is sorry to see his longtime teammate leave, but is excited to get back on the ice.
“We’ll all miss Karl, but that’s a part of the game,” said Pallardy, who has watched all three home games from the stands at the Events Center.
“One good thing about sitting out and watching the team play is that you can look at, and see what the team needs, what it’s missing,” Pallardy said.
“I’m excited about the chance to come back and give the team a shot of energy. I’m going to be buzzing around the net on both ends of the ice, doing everything I can do to make some positive things happen.”
The Mavericks host a pair of games this weekend at the Events Center.  The Mississippi RiverKings, who downed the Mavericks 5-4 Saturday night in Southaven, Miss., are in town Friday night and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will battle the Mavericks Saturday. Both game times are set for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available for all remaining regular season home games.
The Mavericks are featuring a “Fearsome Foursome” Halloween four-pack Friday night that offers four rink-side tickets, four hot dogs, four Pepsi drinks and a dozen LaMar’s Donuts for $80.
