Grain Valley tennis clinched its third consecutive MRVC West conference championship Tuesday.

The Eagles defeated Excelsior Springs 9-0 on what coach Randy Draper called a very special night.

It was senior night for the Eagles who set to graduate seven. Draper said the most interesting thing about those seven seniors was they all played a part at one time or another in winning a major event.

The girls were also treated when the first No. 1 singles player for the 12-year old Eagles program came to participate in the event.

The Eagles improved to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in conference.
