He is currently working as support services floor care specialist for the Jackson County Detention Center and works with Inmate Trustees. He is an elder at the East Independence congregation, and was pastor of the Deer Lodge Branch for several years.
Marilyn has been a faithful housewife and mother all of her life. She also worked for several years in the dietary department of several nursing homes. Her mother, a retired home economics teacher, taught her how to cook. Marilyn was hostess to numerous extended family dinners.
The Chappelows were host and hostess to RLDS missionaries when they came to Deer Lodge. Sam and Marilyn both attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, where they first met in the food service line at Walker Hall.
