Harland Monroe Sieg was born December 28, 1935 to Earlston and Viola (Sweet) Sieg in Hill City, KS. He passed away December 22, 2011. He graduated from high school in Baldwin City, KS. Shortly after graduation he joined the US Airforce and served 8 years.

Harland Monroe Sieg was born December 28, 1935 to Earlston and Viola (Sweet) Sieg in Hill City, KS. He passed away December 22, 2011. He graduated from high school in Baldwin City, KS. Shortly after graduation he joined the US Airforce and served 8 years.

On March 2, 1959 he married Freda Ann Kellett. He owned Sieg Construction Corp with his sons Jeff and Stacey Sieg. Harland always loved most anything to do with racing and building racing motors. In the early years he would make trips to the local drag strips. He then started tractor pulling which took them to several states. After that Jeff and Stacey started into sand drag racing. This grew into a hobby for the entire family and he opened Thunder Valley Sand Drags in Grain Valley, MO.

He was preceeded in death by his parents and son Richard Joseph (Joe) Sieg.

Harland is survived by his wife Freda, daughter Patricia Cullinan, sons Jeffrey and wife Deborah Sieg, Stacey Sieg all of Independence, MO, Grandchildren Jamie Winsor, Jason and wife Ann Sieg, Dustan Sieg, Joshua Sieg, Rachel Sieg, Joseph Hunter Sieg. Brothers David and wife Elaine Sieg of Hutchinson, KS Darrell and wife Jill Sieg of Ottawa, KS. and 10 great grandchildren.

Harland requested no services be held, cremation.
