On April 3, the citizens of Independence will be asked to approve an ordinance that will put additional patrol officers on the street. This measure is necessary to prevent encroaching crime to our city and to allow our officers more time to patrol our neighborhoods. Chief Dailey and the men and women of Independence Police Department do a great job, but they are stretched “quite thin.”

The cost is minimal in comparison to the additional protection that our families will experience. Most property owners will incur a cost of less than $6 per month. This investment is well worth the money, and the funds will be monitored by an Oversight Committee.

Please vote yes on April 3.
