Sarah J. King Means, 91, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on June 21, 2010, at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Sarah J. King Means, 91, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on June 21, 2010, at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Sarah was born on March 30, 1919, in Trenton, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vaughn Means, her parents, and three sisters.
Sarah was the founding regent of the Blue Springs Chapter DAR, a founding member of the Blue Springs Art League, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, and a music lover since childhood.

She is survived by son, Kent Means; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Cyril Welter; grandchildren, Erika Franke and husband Darren, Dylan Welter, Mia Welter; great-grandchildren, Chance Whittle and wife Candace, and Caysen Woods.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 24 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.
