Patsy (Caton) Hefley, 64, of Bergman, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

The daughter of the late Woodrow “Jack” Caton and Etha K. (Dees) Caton, Patsy was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Harrison. She was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church, Independence, Mo., and very active with The Sincerity Singers. Patsy loved working with flowers and loved to paint. A very gifted person, she had a passion for people and her Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Caton and her husband, John Paul Hefley.

She is survived by her son, Jason Paul, wife Stephanie and grandson John Paul, all of Independence, Mo.; her mother, Etha Caton of Zinc; a sister, Mary K. Eddings of Lathrop, Mo.; a brother, Jackie and wife Linda of Bergman. Other survivors include brother-in-law Howard J. Hefley; sisters-in-law, Loucile Burdine, Louise Stewart, Jimmie Winstead, Freddie Walker, Patricia “Patsy” Henderson and their families, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, Dr. Edward Cable and The Sincerity Singers and a host of family and friends.

 Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at White Oak Church of God on Zinc Road with the Rev. Leo Dye and the Rev. Gerry Bryant officiatiing. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Harrison. Pallbearers will be Dr. Edward Cable, Dana Caton, Steve Dees, Andy Lott, Glen Walden and Richard White. Honorary pallbearers include Elder Lilburn C. Hurd, Howard J. Hefley, James F. Stewart, the Rev.
