“No charges will be filed in this case,” said Velda Cook, spokesperson for the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office. “The accident was deemed accidental.”
The accident between Rich Baldinger, 49, of Blue Springs, and Marilyn Walters, 61, occurred just after 2 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 40 and Bowlin Road in Blue Springs. Marilyn Walters later died at Centerpoint Medical Center. Jerry Walters received minor injuries, and a second passenger, Christina L. Hainley, 29, of Pleasant Hill, Mo. received moderate injuries.
