A 7-year-old boy suffering from muscular dystrophy is hosting the second annual charity benefit pool tournament that raises money to fight the disease.
Registration will start at 11 a.m. at Twin Stroke Bar and Grill, 501 N.W. Vesper St., in Blue Springs.
The tournament will begin at noon and raffle prizes will be given away from 2 to 6 p.m.
Austin Booth was diagnosed in April 2008, with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. Since then, he’s become active in raising funds to help find a cure.
The tournament is an eight-ball singles competition, double elimination. The entry fee is $40, with half going to MDA for research and treatment and the remainder going to a prize fund for the top winners.
A.P.A. rules will be used. The Calcutta will be 100 percent payback to player/buyers.
