Weekly family rail, with a tip on keeping the romance alive, a look at the latest “Madea” movie and more.

Tip of the Week

If you really want to nurture your relationship, a study by Harris Interactive shows it's important to synchronize your cleaning styles.

Husbands should note that 55 percent of married women say they would prefer to receive a whole-house cleaning in lieu of an expensive gift, according to this recent "Mr. Clean Keeping It Fresh" survey. This comes as no surprise, as more than half of married men and married women say they have argued with their partner over a dirty, smelly bathroom, a disorganized kitchen, finding towels on the floor or having a messy countertop and other things.

“Nevermore: A Photobiography of Edgar Allan Poe,” by Karen Lange
Ages: 9 to 12
Pages: 64

“Nevermore” brings one of America’s most enigmatic writers to the attention of a new generation of children. This intriguing photobiography examines the life and times of the author and poet who would have a huge influence on future generations of writers, poets, artists and even songwriters. Karen Lange’s gripping narrative combines with the book’s vivid illustrations of Poe’s various haunts to create an atmospheric account of America’s most famous Romantic writer. The story shifts from his birth in Boston to Richmond, from Hampton Roads to Philadelphia, from New York City to his mysterious death in Baltimore. “Nevermore” is a rich appreciation of an American master, whose macabre tales of mystery took shape in tandem with his own strange and ultimately tragic life story.
