Janice Ellen Hutton died Feb. 22, 2009

Janice Ellen Hutton, of Joplin, MO, passed away February 22, 2009.

Janice was born November 27, 1933 in Lone Jack, MO to Joseph William and Opal Ellen (Fann) Klotz. She married Varden Davis in 1951 and they had four children, Randy Davis, Linda Berryman, Allen Davis and Susan Hatfield. The she married Melvin Hutton in 1976 then they retired to Joplin, MO in 2004 where she enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends and caring for her flowers and their two loyal companion pugs, Abby and Molly. She worked at Mel and Ruby’s diner and Milgrams Grocery Store and often was referred to as the woman with the million dollar smile by her coworkers. She worked for the Lee’s Summit School District as a bus aide and also a cashier at Lee’s Summit High School cafeteria. She was a caring and loving mother and she dearly loved her grandchildren. She was generous to a fault helping people in need and never met a stranger.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Orville A. Klotz. She is survived by her four children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a brother, Joe Klotz of Lone Jack, MO, sister, Leta Shafer of Joplin, MO and loving companion Mel and their pugs Abby and Molly who never left her side.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday February 24, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel.
