Leo Edward Sloan Jr.
Leo Edward Sloan Jr. of Independence, MO. passed away at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa, KS peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness.
Mr. Sloan was born on April 6th, 1932 in Independence, MO. He served his country in the Navy. He was retired from Yellow Freight and a member of the Teamsters Union
Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his wife Annie and his son Ricky Sloan.
Among his survivors are brothers Harry E. Campbell and wife Glenna of Warsaw, MO and Delbert Sloan.. He also leaves nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
Leo was best known for his great heart, green thumb, painting and of course his unforgettable smile. He never complained and worked hard all of his life. He always made the best out of every situation.
A graveside burial with Military Honors will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 27, 2009 at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. There will be a wake from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. on Thursday February 26, 2009 at Mt. Washington Forever Funeral Home 614 S. Brookside Ave, Independence, MO.
