The following is a list lunches being served at area community centers for the week beginning March 2.
Palmer Center – Independence
Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $2. You may reserve a meal up to three days in advance. To make or cancel your reservation, 816-325-6200.
Monday: Ham/beans, spinach, corn bread, tropical fruit.
Tuesday: Liver/onions, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, wheat bread, pineapple tidbits.
Wednesday: Roast pork, dressing, gravy, stewed tomatoes, steamed cabbage, wheat roll, applesauce.
Thursday: Diced pepper steak/noodles, diced pickled beets, mixed vegetables, wheat bread, orange gelatin/mandarin oranges.
Friday: Sliced ham, yam patties, spinach, rye bread, tropical fruit.
Fairmount Community Center – Independence
Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation, $2 for seniors and those on disability, $3.25 for all others. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, 816-254-8334.
Monday: Chicken parmesan, parsley potatoes, green beans, wheat breat, fruit mix.
Wednesday: Mostaccolo with meat sauce, Italian vegetables, salad, Italian bread, stewed apples.
Friday: Tuna casserole, carrots/cauliflower/peas, wheat bread, graham crackers.
Vesper Hall – Blue Springs
Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation, $2.50 for seniors and those who are disabled, $4.50 for those under 60. Make reservations five working days in advance, 816-228-0181.
Monday: Pizza, tossed salad, mixed vegetables, Rice Krispy treat.
Tuesday: Liver/onions, mashed potatoes, stewed tomatoes, blackberry cobbler.
Wednesday: Beef stew, pickled beets, California mixed vegetables, biscuit, sliced peaches.
Thursday: Stuffed pepper, creamy coleslaw, black eyed peas, banana.
Friday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, peas/carrots, fruit cocktail.
