What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?
Don’t slack off. Every year of high school is important, especially freshman year. You don’t want to be a senior with a 1.5 GPA.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher in high school has been Mrs. Arianne Moore-Felts. She has always been so supportive of my writing, so eager to help me improve and so quick to encourage me to do what I love.
When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
I loved working on little art projects in my free time, especially painting. If I wasn’t being crafty, I was usually hanging out at Starbucks with my best pals.
What college do you plan to attend and why?
I plan to attend Park University in Parkville, Mo. I want to major in fine arts and minor in psychology.
What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
I’m still pretty indecisive about what I’d really like to do for a career. There’s endless possibilities for me. I could be a photographer or a therapist. I would love to find a career combining art and therapy while working with children. Whatever I choose, I just want to do something that I absolutely love.
